Dear Panther Families,
I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer! We are gearing up for another fantastic year at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic School! We thank you for your patience as we refine our plans and preparations.
“Wellness with the Y”
Some very exciting news - we will be having a new specials class this year called “Wellness with the Y”. The YMCA will be teaching each grade level a lesson once a week. These lessons will cover a range of health and wellness topics including nutrition and exercise, age appropriate stress management, and group exercise opportunities (such as pound, speedball, and Taekwondo). Grades Pre-K through four will have water safety training and our Jr. High students will have leadership lessons, CPR and First aid training (certification available for those 12 years and up) and Childcare/Babysitting training (certification for those 11 and up). They are working on providing us with virtual lessons for our students learning remotely. We look forward to sharing more about this exciting partnership!Supply Drop-Off/Pick-up
We will have some more detailed information for you regarding supply drop up and uniform pick up early next week. For remote learners, I encourage you to obtain the school supplies listed for the grade level for at home learning and activities. Teachers at each classroom grade level will be providing detail as to how these will be used for both in person and remote learners. We will be creating packets of classroom materials to send home for remote learners as well. We understand that some materials (disinfecting wipes) may not be available yet - no problem. We have a solid supply and other disinfecting materials on hand.First Day of School, Wednesday, August 19thWe will begin our first day of school on Wednesday, August 19th. If you have not done so, please read our Reopening Letter for specifics regarding the beginning of school and early dismissals for the 19th-21st.
Faculty & Staff Updates
Our Middle School Science teacher, Mr. Dan Bremer, made the difficult decision to not return to the classroom this year as he stays home to care for his 2 young children. We are currently accepting applications for the position.
Over the summer, we had some exciting changes to our faculty and are welcoming some new members to our St. Anthony community...
- Miss Sara Bogol will be leading our second 3rd grade homeroom, along with Mrs. Stopczynski. Sara joins us from St. Adalbert School, where she has taught 5th grade for the past 2 years.
- Mrs. Rose Faccenda will be leading our second 1st grade homeroom, along with Mrs. Johnson. Rose’s husband (PJ) and brother-in-laws (Matthew & Luke) are St. Anthony alum!
- Mrs. Teresa Thompson joins St. Anthony as our Librarian/Media Arts/Computer Science teacher.
- IA’s - Katherine O'Callaghan, Neha Pandit, and Lauren Grey
