In all grades at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic School, students are encouraged to be active participants in the learning experience. Our teachers challenge students to succeed academically, nurture a sense of curiosity and love of learning, and draw on the lessons of the Gospels to inspire students to grow in their faith and make a difference in our world.
The curriculum at St. Anthony follows state and diocesan requirements, and our teachers collaborate regularly to ensure that all essential academic standards are addressed in each grade level.
Students are assessed throughout the school year to check for understanding and mastery of content. Assessments are created in a variety of ways to take into account individual learning styles.
Our teachers' creative and innovative lessons encourage students to achieve well beyond state requirements in all subject areas. St. Anthony students regularly place at the state and national levels in academic competitions, such as History Day, the Science Fair, and Quiz Bowl. Our I-Step scores are consistently above local and state averages.
In addition to core subjects, St. Anthony School offers classes in Spanish, Art, Music, Band, Computer Science, and Physical Education. We intentionally incorporate service learning into all grade levels, fostering in students a call to serve those in need.
Each teacher at St. Anthony is committed to helping our students grow in their faith and love of the Lord. Religion classes are a part of our curriculum, but the faith formation of our students takes place in each class, in the hallways, on the playground, and in the lunchroom each day.
This year we are participating in the Virtue = Strength® Formation Program from SportsLeader. Learn more.
Catechesis in our youngest grades is based on God's love for all of us. As our students grow in their love of God, they enter into sacramental preparation in second grade when they will receive their First Holy Communion and First Reconciliation. In the older grades, our Catholic faith tradition unfolds further with the lives of Saints, Church history, scripture studies, and preparation for Confirmation in 8th Grade.
The faith based education, where high academic standards are stressed, has proven to be exceptional. Our two children who graduated from St. Anthony’s were well prepared for high school, where they were able to not only succeed but excel. With the advantage of such a strong academic education and the integration of Catholicism into their daily lives from a young age, they are maturing into responsible young adults. They continue to reap the benefits of the study skills and values they were taught throughout their formative grade school years. -Maureen & Rick Miller, St. Anthony Parents
